Full participation that elicits creative problem solving - virtually.
Need to recalibrate priorities and think into the future, too? Consider a strategic plan!
I have refined the highly participatory strategic planning approach I offer so it can be customized to be comprehensive or streamlined and fit unique needs and situations. The process steps highlighted below in the graphic work, largely due to: 1) Honoring and merging all perspectives throughout all planning phases, 2) 25 years of experience in all sectors, and 3) Maintaining a neutral facilitation stance that ensures the plan content is yours and your team's.
All services may be delivered virtually using multiple technology platforms seamlessly.
Discover Phase (not depicted in the graphic) includes: • Learning what you need a strategic plan to do for you • Collecting input from all stakeholders • Recapping the group's recent accomplishments into account • Taking a snapshot of the current situation and data, and more.
Design Meeting determines three primary purposes for developing a plan. • A subset of the larger planning group participates in a Focused Conversation leading to key topics to be addressed • A participant list takes shape, being sure to include those who stand to be affected by the plan • Decisions about relevant documents to be circulated are made, along with other logistics
All planning sessions invite and weave all ideas and perspectives into key consensus items that build on each other from session to session for an integrated, cohesive plan.
Planning Phase - approx. 2.5-3 hours per session • Inventory of National Trends (optional) - Capture emerging & established national trends specific to your industry • Practical Vision for 3-5 years into the future - Describe the new reality you want to see in place at least 3 years out • Underlying Contradictions - Articulate subtle, existing patterns and beliefs that block effective action • Strategic Directions - Generate a wide scope of action ideas & distill them into 3-4 Strategic Directions • Project Implementation Calendar - Form Strategic Directions teams that identify specific, measurable projects to implement for the first 4 quarters
Implementation Phase • Orientation to Plan Coordination and Strategic Direction Team Member Roles • Meeting schedules established and shared • Teams outline all implementation steps & relevant considerations for 1st quarter projects • Facilitation Training for Plan Coordinator(s) and Team Leads • Quarterly Progress Meetings scheduled for whole planning team as well as 1st Annual Plan Update Session
